Course Overview:

The purpose of this training is to increase the dental professional’s ability to confidently engage patients in tobacco-cessation conversations.

Course Objectives:

By the end of this "Conversations on Tobacco & Oral Health" presentation, participants will:

  • Understand the health risks of tobacco products, including vapes.
  • Recognize opportunities to engage patients in the “quit conversation”.
  • Apply the Motivational Interviewing and OARS communication techniques.
  • Utilize the 5 A and AAR protocols for tobacco cessation.
  • Be able to share available resources with patients.

Who Should Take This Course:

  • All Dental Professionals.

What to expect:

  • Passing grade is 70% or higher
  • Below 70% grade means you must retake the course
  • You may retake the course until you get a 70% or higher grade
  • You may take any course as many times as you wish
  • You may not take the same course and receive duplicate credits
